My original CEIVA purchase was made for my 90 year old mother in law; "Grandma Ellie". She was the matriarch of our family, the source of information for all family affairs, but as her hearing diminished so did her telephone use and therefore her ability to stay on top of family news. We are a family spread across the country, California, Iowa, Massachusetts, Ohio, Pennsylvania and North Carolina, so phone conversations were her main source of family news. Her spirit and enthusiasm started to wane despite a letter writing effort to keep her in touch.
We learned about and bought her a CEIVA 1, setting it up in her apartment at the retirement home. The CEIVA instantly became her reconnect to the family. She gave me clear instructions to keep several photos permanently on her screen, but otherwise I made sure she had several new photos a day that I and family members dutifully supplied. We have many, many family stories about Mom and her "picture box". Her visitors were required to pose for a picture with her so that it could be added to her "picture box". The CEIVA brought her celebrity at the retirement home, and she would invite residents in "two at a time" to view it.
When Grandma Ellie moved to assisted living, her CEIVA accompanied her, and once settled in, she would light up at the opportunity to introduce her care takers to her family via the CEIVA. There is no doubt my mother-in-law's last years of life were enhanced because of the CEIVA. I will always be grateful for that.
On the occasions that I have needed assistance with one of my frames, the support staff has been very helpful.
My CEIVA family expands over both my husband's and my birth families, touching 4 generations and is in excess of 50 people...whenever the opportunity arises; I spread the word about CEIVA. I truly believe that it has had a significant positive impact on our lives.
The photos I have sent through CEIVA these past years have included weddings, vacations, births, reunions, graduations and most significantly... simple every day events. The CEIVA gives me the precious opportunity to "be with them" every day.
